Indulge in the luxury and tranquillity of Riverside Cottage, located on the banks of Palmers Channel. Situated just 10 minutes from Yamba or Maclean, or for something different just 24 minutes to Brooms Head.
Palmers Channel is a quiet tributary of the Clarence River, and yet you may still have visits from the local dolphins.
This cottage has been carefully and lovingly restored and has been well appointed with all the conveniences and comforts you could desire in your holiday. A covered front veranda leads to the entry and hallway. Featured throughout this home are polished hardwood floors, high ceilings, stained glass windows, and lots of cosy nooks. Master bedroom is spacious with a king size bed, comfy armchair, as well as a bench seat, reverse cycle air conditioning, vaulted timber lined ceilings, ceiling fan, its own ensuite bathroom. Both the second and third bedrooms provide queen size beds, ceiling fans, high ceilings and stained-glass feature windows. The formal lounge provides you with a space to relax and take in a movie or read one of the many books that the owners have thoughtfully provided, plus a desk space if you feel like writing postcards to your friends and family back home. (Please note the fireplace as pictured is not functional). Family bathroom is a place to luxuriate and relax, featuring a claw foot bathtub, separate shower, vanity, and toilet. Additionally, there is a fully equipped laundry.
The hallway opens out to the kitchen, dining and living room, which flow out onto the rear deck. This area is a wonderful spot for family and friends to gather and enjoy the water views while relaxing with a cuppa or glass of red.
The country style kitchen is fully equipped with all you will need to cook, entertain or just make a cuppa if you prefer to dine out. A fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, 4 burner ceramic stove, under bench oven, pots, pans and crockery are provided, as well as plenty of serving platters, salad bowls, wine glasses, coffee mugs and BBQ tools, if you feel like cranking up the gas for alfresco dining. Separated from the kitchen by large breakfast bar is the dining area, surrounded by louvred windows letting in plenty of warm sunlight, and allowing you to take in those water views. On the other side of the room from the dining area is the living area, with large modular lounge suite, big screen TV, sound system and DVD player. The louvred windows extend around this area giving this whole room a bright and airy atmosphere. Double French doors lead out onto the spectacular deck area, a huge space with arm chairs, dining setting for 6, a BBQ, high vaulted ceilings, and of course those magical views of Palmers Channel. A great spot to relax in the sun in winter, and shade in summer. Just in case the wind picks up cafe blinds will keep you comfortable.
The surrounds of this tranquil home are a delight with a cottage garden full of flowers to attract the local bird life. Two lounge chairs are situated on the riverbank where you can relax and soak in the sunshine. The property has a dock on the waterfront where you can tie up your boat (there is a natural boat ramp 250m up the road where you can launch your boat), plus a fish cleaning sink, and the enterprising owners have set up a spot on the riverbank with places to cast your line, and rod holders so you can haul in multiple fish at a time.
